Mr. Plotner, after leading top fashion businesses in New York City, has created, designed, and sold countless bespoke suits and formalwear ensembles to the most distinguished clients in the world. His journey includes directing haberdashery ventures for Ralph Lauren's Sartorial Purple Label brand and establishing Made in America Bespoke businesses for Paul Stuart. He has collaborated with global ateliers, boutique fabric mills, and old world tailors to create the finest clothing in the world.

Plotner took a circuitous route to his career in haberdashery and tailoring. Raised in Pennsylvania after being adopted from Calcutta, India, cultivating identity was a priority in his life. He discovered his natural musical abilities early on, which led to European concert tours and exposure to culture and art. During his time studying classical piano and singing opera, Plotner's appreciation for dressing well grew as he realized the performative benefits while on stage for music.

Initially learning clothing fundamentals in high school while working at a small local clothing shop, he furthered his interest by working at Ralph Lauren's boutique during university. Recruited by Ralph Lauren Corporation after his studies, he excelled in managing the custom clothing business, and expanded the offering and footprint to global businesses for RL.

Interacting with international designers and prestigious textile mills, Plotner’s fascination with the ultra rare and fine textiles was awoken. Meeting designers and fabric artisans that curated the most prized fleeces, most delicate silks and softest cashmeres, Plotner’s eye for luxury and style was sharpened and his taste defined. Plotner went on to launch American based bespoke businesses for other prominent NYC brands and connected with his current bespoke cutter and master tailor in Brooklyn, NY.

In 2021, Plotner founded and launched Beyond Measure Custom, with a focus on offering the finest fabrics the world could offer designed from scratch for the intended wearer. The priority of which is an appreciation for the incredibly rare which compels those few who seek out the best.
